After the many meetings and discussion about the swim camp in Phoenix, the departure day finally arrived and it arrived very early!
All 11 swimmers were punctual for the 5am meeting time at the airport and everyone looked great decked out in their Seals jerseys.
After a long wait to get our tickets the group made it through customs very uneventfully, which is what Grant and I were hoping for. And only a few body scans for a couple lucky swimmers!
We made it to Minneapolis with no problems and enjoyed a two hour layover before getting on our flight to Phoenix. Just over three hours later we finally landed in the land of cactus', palm trees and warm sun. (Although we looked good in our Seals jerseys, they were a little too hot once we got outside)
After checking in to the hotel and unpacking the swimmers spent the afternoon checking out the local stores, swimming in the outdoor hotel pool, playing basketball in the hotel courts, all finished by a group movie. A good ending to a long day.
The "training" component of the camp starts tomorrow and we are looking forward to starting some hard work in the great Arizona sun.
Enjoy the photos!
Why is Grant holding a light saber? Did they let him on the plane?
ReplyDeleteHe needed it to keep the kids in line!
